Tim grew up in a small town in northeastern Connecticut before graduating with a BA from the University of Colorado in 1974. While attending school in Boulder, he grew to love the wild mountain spaces in Colorado and committed to a career in the green industry. This led him to Salt Lake City UT, where he managed a landscape contracting business, and then on to Spokane in 1977, having just married his wife Elaine.

In spring of that year, he helped start Ray Turf Farm and in 1978 took a position with Clark and Sons Landscaping as a project manager and superintendent, before leaving to start his own firm, Summit Landscape Construction in March, 1983. Since this time he has served as a visionary force in his company as well as the local landscape industry. Tim states that he has always been inspired by the natural environment and the resulting benefits for body and soul. Further, he has used this inspiration to promote the company mission, believing that CSGI's work will provide a lasting legacy for the community...
